Here are some frequently asked questions. Since this is being written before the website is published or invitations have gone out, we actually haven't been asked anything, so the name of this post is a lie. However, here are some questions that aren't answered elsewhere that you might want to ask us. There are also probably plenty of questions that you didn't want to ask us, but you're getting those answers anyway.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: Our ceremony and reception are in a public park, so the only dress code is that you must wear some type of clothing. Failure to do so will probably be embarrassing for yourself, for us, for the other parkgoers, and for the police officers who really do have better things to be doing. Aside from that, dress in something that will be comfortable for you. The average temperature for that location at that time of year is a very pleasant mid-70's, and while the ceremony will likely be in the sun, there will be ample shade in the park from very tall and fragrant Eucalyptus trees. As a reminder, we'll be in a park with a variety of uneven surfaces, so wear shoes that are comfortable and stable.
Q: Are kids welcome?
A: Yes, but make sure you keep an eye on them. Any unattended children will be given a shot of espresso and a puppy.
Q: What kind of food will you have?
A: The event is being catered by Sneaky's BBQ, a local, pop-up, South-Carolina-style BBQ smoker. We'll have pulled pork, brisket, and smoked jackfruit (which is vegan), as well as a number of sides.
Q: What kinds of beverages will you have?
A: We'll have several different kinds of beer, a red and white wine, and soft drinks and water. Hard alcohol is not allowed in the park so we won't be providing any. But we won't tell anyone about your flask. Promise.
Q: What's the timing like?
A: Plan to arrive at 1pm PDT for drinks and a ceremony. Lunch will be served around 2. We don't have a scheduled end, but we need to leave that park at sundown, so we'd like to finish up around 6:30 or 7 to allow time for cleanup.
Q: What about photography?
A: We do not have a professional photographer and would love for you to share your photographs from your camera or smartphones. We've created a WedPics album, which allows photo uploads from smartphones (iPhone/Android) and directly online. The wedding album code is BECKYSTUART28. We'll also have a computer available at Sunday brunch for direct transfer.
Q: What's the deal with this “M________________” thing on the RSVP card?
A: According to the ancient and arcane RSVP card arts, that is the designation for the name of the person(s) responding to the RSVP. Why it is so has been lost to the mists of time, but the tradition endures, as is the case with nearly all traditions. Anyway, just put your name there, along with the name(s) of anyone else coming with you.
